| Ahmed Arif - Anadolu - 136 sec Hasretinden Prangalar Eskittim adlı tek şiir kitabıyla çok geniş bir okur kitlesine ulaşan Ahmed Arif 21 Nisan 1927�'de Diyarbakır�da doğdu. Aynı kentte yaptığı ortaöğreniminden sonra Ankara Üniversitesi Dil ve Tarih-Coğrafya Fakültesi Felsefe Bölümü�ne girdi.
1950�'den sonra siyasi görüşleri nedeniyle sık sık tutuklanıp, uzun süreler cezaevinde yattığı için öğrenimi yarım kaldı. Ankara gazetelerinde teknik sekreterlik, düzeltmenlik gibi işlerde çalıştı. 1948-1954 arasında Yeryüzü, Beraber, Seçilmiş Hikayeler, Yeni Ufuklar, Kaynak dergilerinde yayımlandığı şiirlerden sonra uzun bir suskunluk dönemine girdi. İçinde 19 şiir bulunan Hasretinden Prangalar Eskittim 1968�'de yayımlandı ve şiir kitaplarından görülmedik bir baskı sayısına ulaştı.
Ahmed Arif ilk şiirini Garip şiirinin baskın olduğu dönemde yayımladığı halde bu akımdan etkilenmedi. Nazım Hikmet�in açtığı yolda kendine özgü bir şiir oluşturdu.
